Mrs. Ann Sonn
Ann has a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Washington. She has over 40 years experience working as an elementary school Speech Therapist. She began her teaching career at a public school in California, where she taught speech for nine years. She and her family relocated to Wenatchee, and she stayed home to raise her family. When her children were in school at St. Joseph, she began volunteering her time to come in and teach speech.
Ann attended St. Joseph as a young girl. She was in third grade in 1955, the year the school opened. Of her experience at St. Joseph she says, “This school gave me a foundation in religion and academics in a safe, protected environment that I really feel helped prepare me for the next level." She believes that "the St. Joe’s environment fashions kids to become responsible students and young people, which prepares them as they go on to further their education."
All four of her children went through school here, and while they are all grown and have gone on to professional careers, Ann has continued to volunteer her time to teach speech at St. Joseph School, because she believes in the school and in our students. She has been teaching here for 31 years.
